Abstract :
The binary number theoretic single bit insertion or deletion correcting codes as pioneered by Levenshtein (1965) are investigated and some properties are presented. By extending these properties we present a generalized construction technique for binary codes that are able to correct multiple insertions/deletions of binary symbols
