Abstract :
A polyacrylamide phantom containing nonionic surface active agent, salt and sucrose shows a good transparence at room temperature, but the region absorbing electromagnetic power becomes white and opaque due to segregation of the surface active agent caused by temperature increase. Since the electric property of the phantom is almost the same as that of biological tissues, local SAR distribution is observed or measured in three-dimensional ways. The principle of SAR-measurement using the gel phantom and validation of the method by FDTD analysis have been reported in the paper, along with the fabrication method of the phantom. A typical example of SAR-measurement has also been demonstrated in the paper
