Abstract :
The possibility to predict the radiated electromagnetic interference (EMI) of small devices by means of computer simulations and near-field measurements was investigated. Both methods were applied to a simplified model of a switched mode power supply. The investigated frequency range was 30-500 MHz. The predicted values were compared to far-field measurements done in an anechoic chamber. The results show, that the radiation properties of a device can be determined with the near-field measurement procedure proposed. Although the computer simulations give less accurate estimation of the EMI they are useful as well
