Abstract
This work presents the analysis of frequency selective surfaces (FSS) with Dürer´s pentagon pre-fractals patch elements. The FSS structures are composed by a 2-D periodic array of metal pre-fractals elements on a dielectric layer. The parametric analysis is performed using the Method of Moments Ansoft Designer™ software, in order to investigate the effect of the fractal iteration number and of the element periodicity on the FSS transmission properties. The FSS structures are proposed to act as band-stop spatial filters with interesting features such as compactness and broadband or dual band responses.
