Abstract :
There is much literature on the emissions due to apertures while the real situation of a not perfect contact has not received the deserved attention. The typical situation is a long narrow slot closed with fingers or gaskets. This situation was investigated, by using an experimental technique based on the measurements of the magnetic field over the aperture, on two large telecommunication systems. Knowing the magnetic field, under several hypotheses, it is possible to determine the tangential electric field on the aperture and then the electromagnetic field at a desired distance. The calculations and the experimental results were compared
