Abstract
Degenerate four-wave mixing was used to determine the nonlinear optical properties of the first series transition metal phthalocyanines at 532 nm. Metal phthalocyanines consisting of titanium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, cobalt, nickel, copper and zinc were investigated. For these compounds /spl chi//sup 3/ values ranged from 4.0/spl times/10/sup -13/ esu for vanadium to 2.8/spl times/10/sup -12/ for copper.
