Abstract :
This paper presents a computational method to evaluate the statistical distribution of parameters of lightning impulses in antennas, towers, structures and buildings. Such a method is based on an electrogeometric lightning model (EGLM), that has been extensively applied, with good results. From the 3D geometry of an object (e.g., an antenna tower), and, eventually, other objects in its vicinity, and considering statistical distribution of parameters of lightning impulses in flat soil, the number of lightning strokes in the object (in a statistical sense), and the statistical distribution of the main parameters of such impulses, are obtained
