Abstract :
Even though the effectiveness and its implementation of the angular interpolation for the filtered projection data were published, the rationale of the angular interpolation with filtered-backprojection algorithm (FPB) was not clear yet before. This paper presents formally the rationale of the angular interpolation formula used with FBP for reconstruction of smooth distributions from limited numbers of views. A simplest and most efficient approach for reconstruction from limited views, FBP with angular interpolation of filtered projection data, is completely established. It has application in real time systems, in which reconstruction is needed
