Abstract
Interference rejection schemes need to be employed to insure the proper operation of electronic systems embedded in a severe interference environment. A novel knowledge-based approach to interference rejection is described whereby an expert system is used to (1) monitor the signal environment so as to determine the interfering signals within a prespecified accuracy, and (2) based upon knowledge obtained from monitoring the environment, select suitable interference rejection schemes from a library of preselected techniques. Computer simulations are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach for several interference scenarios
