Abstract
In China, social organizations are active in all kinds of public affairs, including the public conflict. Though the government is sensitive to social organizations´ participation in public conflict process, they are enrolling in the conflict process more and more frequently. Looking from the function aspects of social organizations, the role of social organizations to conflict resolution is double, on one hand, they may strengthen the rivalry force, on the other hand, they can represent their members or some other groups to express their interests and views, and send the relative message to government, finally promote the deep resolution of public conflict. Social organizations can manage the dissatisfaction of the conflict parties, and make them more rational; Social organizations even can act as the third party to intervene in the conflict, find more feasible solutions to conflict resolution and transformation. It is urgent to open more institutional room for social organizations to play their role in public conflict resolution.
