Abstract :
The rate distortion theory of Gaussian autoregressive (AR) sources is relatively well understood. However it is often the case that we do not know the exact parameters of the AR source parameters. The present authors are interested in obtaining upper and lower bounds on the rate distortion function R(D) for a Gaussian AR(1) source subject to the mean square error fidelity criterion for a given range of model parameter uncertainty
