Abstract :
Heterogeneous computing is now becoming a hot research in the area of high performance computing. However, due to lack of corresponding debugging environment, programming and development for heterogeneous parallel software is very difficult and inefficient, which will restrict its promotion. This paper proposes an approach that a debugging environment for heterogeneous computing is constructed by using GDB in Unix/Linux. We separate cooperative control function from local debugging operation, and design unified message formats to eliminate the heterogeneity among machines. This debugging environment can be deployed rapidly and used friendly. It is a feasible method to quickly implement a debugging environment for heterogeneous computing.
