Abstract
Several passive and active snubber circuits were studied for DC-DC power converters utilized in high power offline applications where a very small duty ratio is needed either for constant power or current limit operation. Under such conditions, conventional snubber circuits lose their effectiveness. New passive and active snubber circuits are proposed to solve the problem. Furthermore, it is shown that the proposed snubber circuits have better thermal performance than conventional snubbers
