Abstract :
The ATLAS detector at CERN’s LHC will be exposed to proton-proton collisions from beams crossing at 40 MHz with an energy of 14 TeV. A complex multilevel Trigger and Data Acquisition (TDAQ) system have been designed and built in order to reduce the event rate from about 109 interactions per second to about 200 Hz, storing data with a rate of about 400 Mb/s. The first element in the data acquisition chain is the Read-Out Driver, which is specific for each ATLAS subdetector.
