Abstract
In this paper, the combination of the use a single central loop with a family of AC/DC power converters is proposed. The major advantage of these power converters over the two-stage approach is that a big part of the output power is processed only once. With a single control loop, the cost of the circuit is reduced and the energy management can be improved. Design guidelines, analysis of the line current and the evolution of the main magnitudes are analyzed. Experimental results are also included in the paper. A methodology to improve the power processing of the power converter to be within the limits of the IEC 1000-3-2 Standard is proposed
