Abstract
A novel approach to boost inductor design using a quasi-planar winding configuration consisting of a helical wound flat copper coil to develop high ampere-turn capability for use in high current power factor correction boost circuits is presented. By comparing this approach with four other commonly used boost choke configurations, the advantage of this approach is demonstrated
