Abstract
Ensuring the appropriate functionality of all the interconnected electric and electronic appliances inside an intelligent building requires an environment where electromagnetic interferences are attenuated so as to eliminate any harmful effects. This paper proposes some straightforward investigation techniques regarding the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of construction materials. The authors present some simulation methods by developing an original model for shielding capability estimation along with experimental methods and determinations on materials with shielding capability.
