            Abstract : 
Nowadays multimedia-assisted listening assumes more and more important roles. This paper intends to explore the effectiveness and feasibility of metacognitive awareness and strategy-based approach to multimedia-assisted listening in the Chinese context. What is needed is an expansion of the current approach to engage learners in a wide range of metacognitive activities to help learners integrate the use of strategies while listening.
