Abstract :
Demonstrated is a successful MIMO transmission over a single standard GI MM fiber with the use of commercially available IEEE 802.11n access points. 50% increase of the total bit rate (versus single channel operation) was achieved, both with the use of 5.4 km long 50 μm core MM fiber and 4.4 km long 62.5 μm core fiber. The results clearly show the possibility of MIMO transmission over MM fiber pass band and corresponding increase of the transmission capacity of the fiber.
