  • Abstract
The paper presents results of operation of a soft switched bang-hang three phase current controlled inverter, aiming to obtain a nearly perfect sinusoidal current waveform as required for good torque profile and precise torque control of rotating field AC machines. Inverter devices are IGBTs switching at 40 kHz. A detailed analysis of the circuit operation is presented. The feasibility of the proposed scheme is experimentally verified on a prototype
