Abstract :
This study explores and highlights sustainable development opportunities within primary and secondary schools which can be capitalized on in an effort to improve sustainability. The research undertaken investigates the current circumstances of sustainability within schools and explores what measures have been adopted to improve their state of sustainability. This paper seeks to highlight where opportunities for sustainable development within schools lie, whilst also emphasizing the importance and need for sustainability within the school environment. In particular innovative green IT and its organizational acceptance, which is highly sought after practice in all industries at the present time. Technological advancements and capacity for advantageous exploitation within schools through cloud computing is also a key focal point of this study as sustainability options within education is being explored.
