Abstract
Spectrum sensing with multiple antennas for cognitive radio systems is analyzed as the detection probability with correlation among antennas. In order to reduce the adverse effect of the spatial correlation on spectrum sensing performance, we proposed to employ dual polarized multiple antennas at the secondary sensing nodes. The spectrum sensing performance degradation due to the antenna correlation is then investigated under LOS as well as multipath environment. The superiority of spectrum sensing with dual polarized multiple antennas over conventional multi antennas with only vertical polarization under multipath channel environment are verified by numerical simulation results.
