Abstract :
This work presents an industrial application of studying the feasibility, demonstrating and validating the concept of hydrogen assisted renewable energy, optimizing system design and prompting its applications. Five components are included: the physical energy-node, a database, a virtual energy-node, a holonic coordination & control, and a human machine interface. The virtual system and database portion of the system have been developed and applied in the first of our four phases on-going industrial project, which investigates, analyses the feasibility and suitability of hydrogen fuel cell technologies for a back-up and standby power supply in one of the remote off-grid communities. The results provide a solid basis for engineering design and analysis of the renewable energy generation system for the pilot site. The system is eventually available to industry experts over the Internet and permit them to optimize the system design and device selection to fulfill their energy needs.
