Abstract :
With the demonstration application and commercialization of electric vehicles (EVs), the collision safety of EVs increasingly becomes the concern of the community. The power source of EVs is battery pack which consists of decades and even hundreds of batteries through serial connection or parallel connection, so the collision safety of EVs is different from the one of traditional vehicles. This paper summarizes the status quo of studies on collision safety of EVs from the experimental method and computer simulation method. Through deep analysis, the paper points out the shortcomings of these studies and specifies the trends of studies on collision safety of EVs.
