Abstract :
This paper presents design considerations of an active power filter and a simple method to calculate reactive power components and current harmonics for single-phase nonlinear loads. This allows compensation of harmonic currents into the utility power. Simulations and experimental results are shown for a nonlinear load of 1 kVA
