Abstract :
In the age of knowledge economy, knowledge has become the most important intelligence assets for enterprises. Knowledge management is becoming increasingly crucial to modern organizations. Compared with explicit knowledge, tacit knowledge is still considered to be relatively unexplored and proper management of this resource is of immense importance for better organizational performance. Expertise knowledge map, as a tool of representing employees´ competency, can be used to manage tacit knowledge. This paper proposes an ontology-based conceptual framework for expertise knowledge map, which is expected to automatically identify the competence of employees and their social network. The functions of each component in the framework are analyzed. The discussions focus on the several factors that need to be taken into consideration when implementing an expertise knowledge map.
