Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a colour based tracking algorithm for capturing the motion of human body parts for home-based rehabilitation. Different colour belts are attached to the body joints of interest and tracked in the video sequence. The performance of the colour-based tracking algorithm is analysed by comparing the tracking results with the results from a commercial marker-based tracking system, Qualisys. The experiment results show the efficiency of our method in tracking simple target reaching motion of human arms
