Abstract
Focus on the problem of integrating, sharing and mapping heterogeneous and distributed traffic information, this paper present a method on using when tag extended GeoRSS to encode the traffic information, and incorporate this GeoRSS layer with WMS layer generated by Geoserver. The detailed technical approach used to create our solution is illustrated and a use-case scenario is also provided. The approach and methods described in this paper can be extended to use in many other domains such as crisis management.
