Abstract :
This paper attempts to provide analytical tools to facilitate the analysis and design of flat permanent magnet linear machines. First, a 2D exact analytical solution of magnetic field distribution in a actual geometry of a flat type permanent magnet linear machine is established. The developed model is then used to estimate resistance limited eddy current in armature windings and permanent magnets and corresponding loss.
