Abstract
The phenomenon of ellipsis is particularly difficult to be treated automatically because it isn´t usually easy to characterise the elements chat we can delete. We propose a formal characterisation of the phenomenon of ellipsis and a localisation algorithm of elliptical parts of a sentence. Then, we present a certain number of classification criteria of elliptical sentences to prepare the phase of resolution itself later. Finally, we give resolution algorithms based on this classification
