Abstract

The problems in the design and implementation of a hypertext system for education in computer science at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest are presented. The following issues are addressed: (a) creation and updating the database for hypertext, using texts authored by the professors or imported texts written with other editors; (b) interface for the students as readers of hypertext and for the professors as authors; (c) automatic feedback of the difficulties encountered by the users (authors and readers) (this information is used for human factors study and for improvement of the system); and (d) cooperative work between the professors and the students for improving the quality of the hypertext, and also the cooperation between the designer of the hypertext system and the users, for improving the human-computer interface and the efficiency of the system
