Abstract :
Pipe Cutting machine has been widely used in ocean engineering, pipeline engineering, etc. According to the application of pipe cutting machine in the construction of offshore platform, a novel open architecture CNC system based on Industrial Personal Computer (IPC) and Digital motion controller (DMC) applied in a 6-axis flame Pipe Cutting machine is designed. Software system with multifunction and high extendibility based on modularized concept is developed under Visual C++6.0 environment. The analysis of mechanical movement, structure of software system and the design of CNC system are presented in this paper. The practical machining instance demonstrates the feasibility and effectiveness of the CNC system.
