Abstract :
In this paper, the performance evaluation of PD measurement was performed on the cable joints and terminations. The capacitive sensors using metal foil were installed at the appropriated position of joints and terminations. With high frequency PD measurement, an excellent sensitivity below 10 pC could be achieved on on-site (unshielded long distance) conditions. The high frequency PD measurement technique was proven to be an effective diagnostic method for qualification of EHV cable accessories. With this technique, the reliability of the cable system, especially on cable accessories, can be verified on-site condition
