Abstract
This paper presents work done on the analysis of a new permanent magnet machine topology using finite element in order to achieve high torque density specifically for an automotive application. Also different types of electric motors that are suitable for automotive applications are shown. A comparison between these different machines is given by highlighting some of their advantages and disadvantages. Also the effect of pole to tooth combination in respect to harmonics is shown and compared.
