Abstract :
In this paper, the speed control of induction motor is addressed based on two cascaded predictive control system structures where both inner-loop and outer-loop are controlled using continuous-time model predictive controllers (MPC). The essential difference between the two control system structures is one with integrators embedded in the inner-loop predictive control system whilst the other is without the integrators in the inner-loop system. Experimental results on an industrial sized induction motor have been obtained to demonstrate the performance of both proposed control architectures during the transient as well as in the phase of the disturbance rejection.
