Abstract :
This article discusses the use of servo drives in the field of mechatronics and mechanical engineering profession in teaching the Republic of Estonia bachelor´s and master´s curricula in higher education. This work examines the share of servo drives in manufacturing and industrial electrical drives and compares them in curriculum covered topics. It looks at what materials and tools will be used in teaching servo drives and motors, and whether it meets the needs of industry and manufacturing. The purpose of the work is to develop theoretical and methodological bases for new training methods and practical guidance´s for professional mechatronics education for today´s higher educational institutions in Estonia. It is necessary to define the needs of the labor market for preparation of specialists in the vocational schools and universities in order to identify the main ways of assessing the quality in the preparation of specialists.
