Abstract :
An analysis and improvement of the direct power control method (DPC) for converter feeding generators in wind power applications under disturbed grid voltages is presented. An improved DPC method is derived and described, and its performance is analyzed as well. This improved DPC permits a robust and dynamic control of active and reactive power even under symmetrical and unsymmetrical voltage sags, unbalanced grid voltages, and voltage harmonics.
