Abstract
This paper investigates a direct AC-AC IPT system which takes 50 Hz mains input and generates 50 Hz mains output without requiring a DC link in conventional systems. This technique is based on matrix converters giving advantages of low energy storage. The AC processing control concept is used to produce a controllable AC output. Preliminary simulation results have verified the operation of such a system.
