Abstract :
The zero-voltage switched (ZVS) pulsewidth modulated (PWM) full-bridge (FB) converter is widely used in industry because it can operate with soft-switching and fixed frequency control. This converter, however, loses its ZVS capability under light load conditions, and some auxiliary circuitry is usually added to extend its ZVS range. This paper examines several auxiliary circuits, explaining how they operate, and comparing their respective advantages and disadvantages. Guidelines for the selection of auxiliary circuits for various operating conditions are given
