Abstract
Voltage sag has been one of the most concerned problems of power quality. Identifying the location of the source of voltage sag is critically necessary for power-quality troubleshooting, diagnosis and mitigation, and it is helpful to distinguish responsibilities and solve disputes caused by voltage sag. This paper analyses and compares four existing location methods based on reactive power change, slope of the system trajectory, real current component and distance relay. The distance relay method shows the best performance through simulations using PSCAD.
