Abstract :
The use of DQPSK is quite effective to expand the aggregate capacity in WDM systems by increasing the spectral efficiency. By using optically filtered RZ-DQPSK, 1.6 bit/s/Hz spectral efficiency is achieved without polarization demultiplexing and the achieved spectral efficiency enables 5.12 Tbit/s transmission with the conventional C-band EDFA repeaters.
