Abstract
As Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) are introduced into the marketplace, it is important to have corresponding educational programs at colleges and universities for training students and professionals in the area. This paper presents the development of a PHEV demonstration unit for educational purposes. The unit design and implementation are discussed in the paper. The test results of the system are also given and discussed. The unit can be used as a PHEV teaching tool for K-12 teachers and students as well.
