            Abstract :
We have shown that the Prony method, used with a stepped-sinusoid pulse, is suited to our directional hydrophone calibration. We are able to drop our lower frequency limit from 750 Hz (3 cycles) to 200 Hz (0.8 cycles). Further study into pole convergence methods and more recent Prony method research is necessary to find out whether the poles of the test device can be ascertained directly. Such a possibility should produce a faster calibration and more useful information for modeling purposes
