Abstract
In this article, a novel dual-band printed monopole antenna is presented for 2.4/5.2/5.8-GHz WLAN application. The proposed antenna, fed by a 50Ω microstrip transmission line, can excite resonances at 2.46 and 5.30 GHz with a wide band from 2.30-2.68 GHz and from 5.13-6.04 GHz with an impedance bandwidth of 15.3% and 16.3% respectively. Also a good radiation pattern is achieved for the WLAN band (2.400-2.484 GHz 5.150-5.350 GHz and 5.725-5.825 GHz) range. The designed antenna has an overall size of 34×30×1.6 mm3. These properties make the antenna suitable for WLAN applications.
