Abstract
This paper reviews the work that has been carried out in Cambridge and elsewhere on the optimisation of carbon nanotubes for use as the cold cathode emitters suitable for use in field emission displays (FEDs). This study also discusses the relative merits of such displays compared to state-of the-art alternatives.
