Abstract
The ATBL equipment designed by GEC ALSTHOM ACEC TRANSPORT uses up-to-date technology in order to provide a modern platform for the integration of automatic train control systems. In relation with an integrated man-machine interface, the ATBL combines, for the first time in Europe on the TGV-PBKA, the signalling systems of two different countries, Belgium and the Netherlands. The modularity and the flexibility of the ATBL make it easily upgradable to other signalling systems, for instance the future European Train Control System (ETCS). Reduced volume and weight allow easy implementation of the ATBL in any kind of rolling stock
