Abstract :
A new method is proposed to infer the attenuation properties of the seafloor from its response to the frequency modulated pulses emitted by the subbottom profiler. This method is based on the time-frequency separation of two chirps and the spectral ratio algorithm combined with a neural network to improve attenuation estimation for thin sediment layers
