Abstract :
In response to the increasing talent gap in the power and energy sector, Eaton is collaborating with the University of Pittsburgh´s Swanson School of Engineering to help train students in the electric power engineering field and usher in the next generation of power-delivery technology. The collaboration will focus on developing courses across a broad range of electric power engineering and system topics including smart grid technology and a digitized, efficient electricity delivery system, and will also cultivate new and ongoing research related to power systems, power quality, energy efficiency and alternate energy systems. The collaboration addresses the national need of experienced power engineering professionals, is mutually beneficial to the Swanson School of Engineering and Eaton, and bolsters the Pittsburgh region´s position as a leading center of power engineering technology.
