Abstract :
This paper proposed a sensing system which can realize relatively high speed and high accuracy 3D localization of multi-targets in the intelligent space by measuring ultrasonic time of flight (TOF). In the former ultrasonic localization system, only one signal is allowed to exist in the space at a specific time point so targets can only be localized one by one. In the proposed system, the CDMA technique is considered to be applied. Emitted signals from each tag is assigned with a unique pseudorandom "Gold codes" so that even the tags emit signal simultaneously, receivers can detect them respectively. By doing so, the simultaneous 3D localization is possible. Since there are usually so many targets in the intelligent space to be localized, this system is expected to speed up the overall localization sampling rate in it.
