Abstract
This paper outlines the various steps that were undertaken in analyzing the voltage stability problem that surfaced in the Natchez, MS area of Entergy System following the retirement of a gas-fired generating unit in that area. This paper also discusses the alternative solutions considered to address the dynamic voltage stability problem and the DVAR solution that was selected to mitigate the voltage recovery issue.
